DeVry Chicago opened in 1931 as DeForest Training School. In the 1950s, the school became known as DeVry Technical Institute. The name was changed to DeVry Institute of Technology in 1968 and to DeVry University in 2002. The current facility, which opened in 1972, is located on Chicago's northwest side and is easily accessed by public transportation. The 103,000 square foot structure offers a three-story central area that includes a student commons, a snack bar and vending machines. In fall 2000, a new 52,000 square foot facility was added to the campus. The two buildings offer enhanced classrooms, labs, administrative offices and amenities. Parking is available at the facility.
