Onondaga Community College is a college of the State University of New York (SUNY) system and one of 30 locally sponsored community colleges throughout New York State. Onondaga County is our sponsor.
We offer two-year degree programs that serve as transfer opportunities to baccalaureate degree programs at four-year campuses or for direct entry to the workforce. An advantage of the SUNY system is that credits are easily transferable between campuses for students who want to continue their education beyond the community college level. We also offer certificate programs that can generally be completed in one year. Our Community Education programs include classes for both personal enrichment and professional development. We also offer special programs for children and teens, small businesses and school districts. Community members take advantage of our olympic size pool both through our American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim and our recreational swimming programs.
Our campus is noted for its hills, wooded terrain, and expansive views of the surrounding countryside. Our Syracuse location, at the geographic center of New York, is within 350 miles of every major metropolitan center of the northeast. Our central location and accessibility in the heart of New York and the northeast make it easy to get here. We are near the Finger Lakes, Lake Ontario, and the St. Lawrence Seaway as well as the Adirondack mountains.
